When my Bestie and I went on a road trip this summer, we had no clue where we would go. Also, we didn’t even knew if camping would be fun (turns out it’s hilarious).. Honfleur (Normandy, France) was our first stop, and also our last stop on the way back. I love Honfleur! Here is why..
Honfleur is super pretty
Honfleur is a cute and beautiful town. Old buildings and beamed houses are painted in lively colors. The colors brighten up this old town. Every street you walk is different, but it is never dull. You need to see for yourself because the picture don’t do it justice, but it made me happy.
The harbor is alive
No, this is not turning into a ghost story.. 😉 Still, the harbor is alive and the absolute place to be in Honfleur. There are many restaurants at the harbor, which are open all day. If you walk around the harbor in the middle of the day, it is cramped with people trying to find a spot to sit down, especially during high season.. I always love the crowds but if you are not a fan, don’t go to Honfleur in high season. Anyway, the best part about the restaurants at the harbor.. some of them turn into party bars at night!
Although Honfleur is a small town, it has everything you need. Restaurants, bars, the beach, (art) shops, and friendly people. All fairly close to each other and all in walking distance. The town is also home to the Sainte Catherine church, which is the oldest wooden church in France. This draws a lot of tourist to the town too. I believe that everyone could enjoy Honfleur, there is something for all.
If you are visiting Normandy in France… a must visit! I am sure you will love Honfleur too.
Or have you already been to Honfleur?
